Verbs as Nouns, Nouns as Verbs

Can a verb be a noun? Take a look at the sentences below. Both sentences use the word 'tear' but the meaning is different and that word falls in different word class too!

A)  We tear the paper into pieces for our collage art. ( used as a verb)

B)  He was embarrassed because he had a tear in his pants! ( used as a noun)

Look at the grammar notes that we discussed this morning, 5 Perseverance. Can you now spot the verb or noun form of the underlined words in the following sentences?

Qn 1.  He witnessed the robbery.
Qn 2.  He was a witness of the robbery.

Qn 3.  That is a very unusual drink.
Qn 4.  Dad drinks coffee every morning.
